A while ago, my friend Meredith (and former roommate) asked me if I could take some portraits of her that she could use for some magnets and a little bit of self-promotion.  Meredith has been horseback riding for many years and is quite gifted.  She spent some time in Germany during last year working with the up-there-ranks of professional dressage riders.  I had so much fun photographing her.  Enjoy these fun relaxed portraits.

A very common view along the side of the road in Alliance, NE last winter.

Aren’t cows hilarious?

Last fall, my husband and I went out to the Amana Colonies for a little get away.  Fall in Iowa doesn’t even compare to New England, but it still has its charm.  It was a beautiful day – I hope you enjoy some of the views!

A storm was a-brewin’.

This apple was just sitting there, ready for its close-up.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Many thanks for those who have been supportive and helpful as I (tentatively and gradually) step into the world of photography.  I’m so grateful.

I hope you enjoy the photographs I share here.  Please leave comments!  And let me know if you have questions or would like to schedule a session with me.

Blessings,
Jen

Scott and Colleen got married in December of 2007.  Their wedding was incredibly beautiful – full of friends, family, laughter, and really touching moments.  I am so blessed to know them as friends, and it was such a blessing to photograph their wedding.  Congrats to the both of you!

I love this picture of Colleen peeking out right before the ceremony.

Scott and Colleen were such troupers to agree to an outdoor photo shoot in the middle of winter.  It ended up being an unusually warm day, but Colleen was still shivering.  I think it was worth it though!

Instead of the traditional glass clinking resulting in a kiss, Colleen and Scott  told people that if they sung them a song, they would oblige with a kiss. We had some very creative folks in the room, so it was a lot of fun!

This photo of them cutting the cake cracks me up – the slice was HUGE!

This was an incredibly sweet moment. Instead of a bouquet toss, they did a dance off – starting with all couples, and reducing down to those who had been married the longest. Scott’s parents won! But it was also revealed that his grandparents were indeed the true winners, but weren’t able to dance. I loved watching Colleen give her bouquet to her new grandmother.

Congrats!

This engagement session was one of my favorites.  I’ve known Colleen for a number of years, and the way her and Scott came to be a couple is such an adorable story.  They grew up together, and then she really didn’t like him, and then all the sudden she did!  It was really a roller coaster for her!

We did these photos in Amherst, some of them in town, and some on the UMass campus.  I hope you enjoy them!

This is what happens when you tell a guy to tell his fiance sweet nothings…

I have a few more favorites that I’ll share soon.
